Hello Everyone,

Our speaker tomorrow is Rebecca Hagenbarger with the Trio Educational Opportunity Center at San Juan College. They assist adults seeking higher education, career training, or pursuing a GED. They can help navigate financial aid and any available scholarships. Rebecca states they also help with housing, food, general academic goals and will answer all questions.

Thank you to our speaker last week, Ken Collins with Strategic Horizons Consulting.  With a career spanning over three decades, including significant roles in diverse sectors and engagements with high-profile leaders worldwide, Ken brings a depth of understanding and an innovative approach to solving complex challenges. His ability to assess, strategize, and implement effective solutions has consistently delivered enhanced efficiency, profitability, and long-term success for businesses across 35 industries.

I think I speak for everyone when I say Congratulations to the Mississauga Tigers for making it to the Connie Mack World Series again!  It will be so wonderful to see some familiar as well as new faces in July.  We have not been confirmed as their sponsor yet, but fingers crossed!

Thank you Kiwanis members for your help in making the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast such a huge success!  Arron Hinshaw with Outback Steakhouse said this is the largest turnout she’s ever seen, including the Sheriff’s Pancake Breakfast! We made about $4,450.  This would not have been possible without our members selling tickets. We had a huge turnout, the lobby was full and outside was packed. Thank you to Kiwanis volunteers: Tracee Loughan, Chris Troyer, Summer Jakino (chairwoman), Bob Brooks, Erin Brooks, Bernadette Alarid and Paul and Jill McQueary. Tracee and Jill seated and served drinks and Bob and Erin bused tables. That is a job I wouldn’t want to do, it’s hard work! Chopstykx with Hutton Broadcasting did a great job with the live Broadcast. We had so many wonderful Outback Steakhouse staff volunteers helping and we’re so appreciative!  All the money goes to provide school clothes for kids this fall.  Finally, huge THANK YOU to Arron for your love and commitment to our community!

Thank you for the help and support of the African Library yesterday evening.  We were able to box up over 1,000 books for an amazing group in South Africa.  They are extremely poor, uneducated, and the community is working hard to educate their people and keep others out of gangs and trouble.  I truly appreciate the help!

Also, big thank you to Tony and Ethos.  They continuously store our books year round, provide supplies for boxing and mailing the books, and support Kiwanis.  Thank you!

Big Brother Big Sisters Fundraiser is Bowl for Kids Sake Saturday July 13 at Bowlero Lanes.
