The Farmington Rio Del Sol Kiwanis club is dedicated to serving the local community through various service and fundraising projects. We are part of Kiwanis International, an organization serving children in local communities for over 100 years.
We’d love for you to come join us at one of our meetings or a service project.
We meet every Thursday at Noon at No Worries Bar and Grill located at the Farmington Airport, Farmington, NM 87401. Bring your appetite and your energy as we discuss upcoming projects and hear from people in our community.
Help the Rio del Sol Kiwanis Foundation in Farmington support the children in need.
The Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Projects for Kids
Our club is actively involved in our community helping children in need. More can be found by clicking the Our Projects button below.
Kiwanis Clothes for Kids at Target provides $100/each for school clothes for approximately 300 children.
November each Year
Coats for Kids program provides hundreds of warm winter coats to San Juan County boys and girls.

Scholastic Books for Kids program provides books for every child in a title 1 school in our district.
Kiwanis Shoes for Kids program provides new athletic shoes and socks to children attending Boys and Girls Clubs.
Farmington Rio del Sol Kiwanis Meetings

Neilson Francisco
Description
Neilson Francisco is the Site Director for the San Juan County Site of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico. BBBS of San Juan County’s mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the county. They develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Sara Kaynor & Theresa Becker
Description
Sara Kaynor and Theresa Becker. Sara is President of the SJRMC Auxiliary Board; it is a non-profit whose mission is to support SJRMC through scholarships and minor equipment purchases. They raise revenue from the Gift Market and fundraisers throughout the year. They also provide comfort and respite to patients, families and staff through the Pet Therapy Program. Sara will bring a Therapy Dog to the meeting.

Hank Adair – Farmington Utility Director-Farmington Electric gives update on New Horizon Into Market and New Generations. The Electric Co is installing 18 megawatts of reciprocating internal combustion engines at the Bluffview Power Plant. Farmington Electric was a partial owner of the San Juan Generating Station coal-fired power plant that closed.
