The Farmington Rio Del Sol Kiwanis club is dedicated to serving the local community through various service and fundraising projects. We are part of Kiwanis International, an organization serving children in local communities for over 100 years.
We’d love for you to come join us at one of our meetings or a service project.
We meet every Thursday at Noon at No Worries Bar and Grill located at the Farmington Airport, Farmington, NM 87401. Bring your appetite and your energy as we discuss upcoming projects and hear from people in our community.
Help the Rio del Sol Kiwanis Foundation in Farmington support the children in need.
The Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Projects for Kids
Our club is actively involved in our community helping children in need. More can be found by clicking the Our Projects button below.
Kiwanis Clothes for Kids at Target provides $100/each for school clothes for approximately 300 children.
November each Year
Coats for Kids program provides hundreds of warm winter coats to San Juan County boys and girls.
November each Year
Scholastic Books for Kids program provides books for every child in a title 1 school in our district.
Kiwanis Shoes for Kids program provides new athletic shoes and socks to children attending Boys and Girls Clubs.

Noelle Phillips – First Responder Resilience, this is a new service unique to the area. Many businesses such as schools, counselors, social workers, and others can benefit from this service. Noelle states that she hopes to be able to provide more availability of the program to those serving our community.

Captain Kevin Burns
Captain Kevin Burns with San Juan County Sheriff’s Dept will be presenting on the different types of human trafficking experienced in the four corners area and the difficulties associated with these types of investigations. He will discuss the complex realities of cases he has been involved with and how these cases impact our community. Captain Burns will discuss efforts and strategies agencies are employing to combat trafficking and support survivors. This session aims to bring awareness to the challenges in the fight against human trafficking in our community.

D’Ann Waters & Debbie Braff
D’Ann Waters and Debbie Braff with the Don’t Meth With Us Program. Come and hear what this drug awareness program is all about. This program is helping keep our youth drug free. Since its’ inception approximately 35,000 5th graders in San Juan County and Northern Navajo Nation have learned about meth and other addictive drugs.

Laykenn Kennedy with Faith Works will discuss overdose prevention, recognition, and response training. Fentanyl, as we know, is a leading substance and becoming more and more known in our area. For some, it’s not just in our area, but also within our homes. How can we use a harm reduction approach to improve health, increase safety, and reduce risks? Narcan is one way. Many have never heard of it or may have and aren’t sure what it is. With Narcan, you can save a life.

Sonnie Rodriquez, Social Work Unit, Law Offices of the Public Defender-Aztec, saw an opportunity to start a community project at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center (SJCADC) to create 3 resources: a resource wall near the front of the main entrance/exit of the Detention Center: an exit/release video that individuals can watch when leaving SJCADA and a phone charging station. Often when individuals are released, they become lost and overwhelmed.

Kathy Price, a key member for the 100% San Juan Initiative, will introduce an exciting new project of the Community Compass Center, a collaborative effort between PMS, San Juan County and local partners. This innovative One-Stop Family Resource Center aims to revolutionize access to essential services in the community. She will discuss how this has to potential to transform lives and strengthen the fabric of SJ County.
