Hello Everyone,

Annette Reich, President of Four Corners Home for Children, will share insights about the ministry’s 16-acre campus and the wide range of programs they offer for children, including their Navajo Nation Outreach program. She will highlight their newest initiative, Four Corners Families, and discuss how it is addressing critical needs for mothers and children in San Juan County.

Last week’s guest speaker was Daniel Webb, Deputy Administrator of the San Juan County Adult Detention Center. He highlighted the vital role detention center staff play as first responders, working closely alongside law enforcement and emergency personnel. Mr. Webb emphasized the critical function the Detention Center serves in supporting law enforcement, the court system, and providing essential services that contribute to the safety and well-being of the community.

Our Kiwanis Club is proud to be ranked #2 in the Southwest District for membership growth, welcoming 10 new members this year! While many organizations are facing membership challenges, our club continues to thrive with a vibrant and diverse group of all ages. Congratulations to everyone for building such a strong, successful club—and for making a difference through our many impactful projects and programs.

Club Treasurer Needed!
After several years of dedicated service as Treasurer, Chris Troyer will be stepping into a Director role beginning October 1. We are now looking for a volunteer to fill this important Board position. If you are interested in serving, please contact Chris or Nikki. Your involvement helps keep our club strong!

Connie Mack Update: Our team is the Dallas Patriots. They will be arriving tomorrow afternoon.(you are welcome to attend the Meet & Greet)

We’re invited to participate in the CMWS Parade,10:00am Fri morning, you can walk  and throw candy. Sometime early next week we’ll have a team dinner for our team, coaches, host families and club members are encouraged to attend. The dinner (approx. 75 +) will be at Summer Jakino’s home.

Kidsfest 2025 – Volunteer Opportunity!

Tana McCall with Hutton Broadcasting, and one of our newest Kiwanis members, is generously offering Kiwanis a free booth at Kidsfest 2025 on Saturday, August 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We’re looking for someone to coordinate 2–3 volunteers for this event. We have a tent available, and Kiwanis could provide inexpensive school supplies as giveaways to kids attending the event.

Last week we had the pleasure of Lesha Gilbert with New Beginnings attend the luncheon with Emmeri Tafoya.  New Beginnings is a Bronze Corporate Member so either or both ladies plan to attend.

Alyssa Begay, owner of Bluehorse Realty, is a previous member of Kiwanis.  She plans to rejoin Kiwanis in the next few weeks.  Alyssa is involved in many organizations and projects and we look forward to seeing her again at the meetings.

Future Fun Plans – Mark your calendars for the summer social at Summer Jakino’s home, 5511 Country Club Dr,  on August 16. More info to follow in near future.

Weekly Card Drawing – It’s Over and We have a winner! Erin Hunt with Carpet One is our winner with over $1,000 in the pot.  Congratulation Erin!!!!! Half of the pot goes to Erin and the other half to Kiwanis for our Summer Social in August.
