Hello Everyone,

Our speaker tomorrow is Debbie Joslin, Executive Director with Hope Children’s Foundation.  They are planning a fun fall event with the Bar-D Ranglers at the Farmington Civic Center.  Also, Debbie will give us an update on her and Randy’s latest trip to Africa.

Thank you to our speaker last week, Ed Marquez, who is portraying his great-great-grandfather Jose Salome Jaquez in Dining with the Dead this year. We learned so much about the important impact Ed’s relatives had in our area. As a young boy, Salome was kidnapped by the Utes to be a slave; this was not an uncommon practice.  How cool to hear about the landmarks that still are named and exist from this time and we should all go find the cemetery where he is buried!

September 9^th-Dining With the Dead-Greenlawn Cemetery. 4:00PM. Tickets are on sale for this 10^th Anniversary event!

September 22^nd-Boys & Girls Club of Farmington’s 55^th Annual BBQ.  See Nikki Taylor for Tickets.  NikkiT@bgcfarmington.org

November 1^st and 2^nd is Kiwanis Clothes for Kids at Target. Bob Brooks-Chairman.  50 to 60 volunteers needed each evening.  300 to 325 elementary children expected.

Nov 4^th is Coats for Kids-Brian Turner-Chairman.
