Hello Everyone,
Our speaker tomorrow is Mike Stark, the County Manager. We always enjoy his updates and he will be telling us about the railroad to Gallup and other important County issues.
Thank you to our speaker last week, Tanda McComb from the SJC Career Center. She gave us a lot of information regarding the internship program and how they support their students as well as community organizations. I think several companies will be adding to their partnership list!
Thank you to our guests last week for joining us. Jill brought Shellie, Paul brought Paul Hayes, and Jennifer brought Shelby. Thank you for coming!
Congratulations to our very own Arron Hinshaw for receiving the Hixon award. This was very deserved and we are grateful for all she does for Kiwanis as well as the community!
Bring your dollars to buy into the poker game; the cards are down to 13 and it supports our yearly social, too!
The Kiwanis summer social last Saturday was a blast. Many thanks to Summer Jakino for hosting and decorating! Fran Ellison, Kiwanis social chairwoman, and Julie Gow for all their work to make this another fun and successful event. Fran arranged the corn hole tournament. Cory Woodward and Ed Kompare took 1st Place, Jill and Jim Luther were 2nd, and Steve Ellison and Barb Luther in 3rd Place.
Dues for next year are now due by October 1st and Chris Troyer will have a square device at our meeting for those who would like to pay by credit card.
Devin Long, with New Beginnings, has been approved for membership and will be inducted at her earliest convenience.
Due to a conflict, Coats for Kids Date was changed to November 11th (Saturday). We are looking for volunteers to help check donation bins that will be put out in October. Requires a drive by once a week to see if we have donations. Please let Brian Turner know if you can help. Brian.Turner@morganstanley.com
Please keep these upcoming dates in mind and consider signing up for these important events.

September 28th, is Changing of the Guard when new officers will be installed. If the new Board would please stay for a picture immediately following the meeting, it would be appreciated.
