Hello Everyone,
Our speaker tomorrow is Kiwanis member Lynn Harris. Her presentation is on the benefits of reflexology. Shoulder pain, knee pain, migraines, anxiety, depression, sciatica, weight gain—these are not signs that your body is broken or failing you. Pain is your body’s profound wisdom speaking to you. Reflexology helps decode those messages and relieve discomfort. Come discover what your body is trying to tell you. (Reflexology is NOT medical advice.)
Last week our speakers were Sarah Kaynor, President of the SJRMC Auxillary and Theresa Becker. They brought Bodie with them and talked about the need for more therapy dogs. Therapy dogs provide comfort and respite to patients, families and staff through the Pet Therapy Program.
Scholastic Books for Kids is here!! Cody needs volunteers: please stay after the meeting tomorrow to put Kiwanis labels in 1,000 books. The books will be at McCormick Elementary this Friday and each student will receive 2 books to take home for their very own. It’s been proven that children who begin reading at an early age will make better grades and obtain a higher level of education. Cody asks that volunteers be at McCormick by 11am to help distribute books. Cody’s email is: cody@hillsinsurancegroupnm.com
Pancake Breakfast Tickets: We just found out the printer accidently printed 2024 tickets. If you have tickets from Summer, please return them and get the corrected 2025 Pancake Breakfast Tickets.
Sturdy Sturdevant and Jason Nichols will be inducted next week or at their earliest convenience. Beth DiGiacomo has indicated that she’s also interested in joining us.
Board Meeting at 1:00PM tomorrow following regular luncheon meeting.

Forks and Corks for Friends was a successful fun event. There were so many people saying what a fun time they had and hope Kiwanis will do it again next year. People loved the Derby Attire Theme and there were many beautiful and large hats. The weather could have been a bit more cooperative but it didn’t rain but we had wind. Ryan Woodard was amazing as a singer and guitarist! Thanks to Nikki for all her work and all those who helped make this event a big success.
We received notification that Kiwanis member Charlotte Peacock passed away on April 16. No other details were included. Charlotte had been a member for about 4 years and had spent about half her time in Tucson.
Be sure and Invite a friend or business associate to join you at a Kiwanis luncheon.
The ducks have been cleaned and are ready for the Riverfest duck race. See Bernadette for duck tickets. Purchase your lucky duck ticket for a chance to win one of many wonderful prizes. The duck race takes place Sunday, May 25th at 3 PM. For more information visit riverfestnewmexico.com
Erin Hunt has planned a meeting for Shoes for Kids. We should have more information soon when times/dates are decided. Shoes takes place in the fall on multi-days.
Note on Dining With the Dead: All actors who are in the event have agreed to the pioneers they are portraying. It’s going to be another great year. Scripts are still being written and will be ready before end of May. Event date is September 6.
