Hello Everyone,
This week at Kiwanis Rio del Sol, our guest speaker will be Jamie Church. She will share information on her book ‘Over A Cup Of Coffee’, however, she won’t be selling books at the meeting.
Thank you to Randi Samuelson-Brown, award-winning non-fiction and fiction author for visiting us last week. Her presentation on Tales of the Old West and Ladies of the Night was very enlightening and intriguing. Laura Harper, President of the SJC Historical Society, joined us as well.
From Randi:
Pass on my thanks to Kiwanis, that I had the privilege of presenting to on Thursday. I thank them all for braving the rain (no small thing I have since learned), and I certainly enjoyed meeting everyone. They all seem to be such very nice people.
CLUB MEMBER NEWS
Please continue to invite businesses or people that might be interested in our amazing Club.
For reference, our Club has 3 types of memberships-individual dues are $175, Bronze Corporate are $235, and Platinum Corporate are $685.

Thank you Randi Samuelson-Brown for coming to our community and sharing your stories and tales last Wednesday at the Civic Center. It was a great turnout, considering the storms. Thank you to the Historical Society and Laura Harper and Jill McQueary.
We also had some famous outlaws, the Stockton Gang, and their wives to thank for being apart of the event!
Actors portraying Emily Jane and Port Stockton: Annette Reich and Rick Burns. Actors portraying Ellen and Ike Stockton are Nikki Taylor and Tony DiGiacomo.

Help Us Prepare Our Community for Winter!
San Juan United Way is partnering with Frontline Mission for a Winter Prep Drive to help local individuals and families prepare for the colder months ahead.
We are collecting blankets, towels, winter items, hygiene products, shower tokens, laundry tokens, and monetary donations.
Kiwanis members can bring donations to any Thursday Kiwanis luncheon. San Juan United Way will collect all donated items each week and deliver them directly to Frontline Mission.
Every blanket, token, hygiene item, and dollar can make a difference for a neighbor in need. Let’s come together as Kiwanis members and help Frontline Mission keep our community warm, clean, and cared for this winter!”

The above flyer is a non-profit that our own Rick Burns spends a lot of love and time on, the Karadah Project. It supports vulnerable internally displaced women and children through education, skills training, and food sustainability programs in those countries. Take a look at the flyer to see how to support or chat with Rick!
KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL NEWS

A Ruby K Award honors Kiwanians who invite five or more new members during their Kiwanis career. This award is free to give and is cumulative, so previous recipients are eligible for a new Ruby K when they invite a certain number of additional members.
