Hello Everyone,

This is a great time to begin thinking about Kiwanis membership. Does our club have a membership goal for the new year? Rio del Sol Kiwanis is undoubtly the most active service club in the Four Corners area. Currently, our membership is down from our all time high of 62 members-we have 57. Invite your friends or business associates to join you for a weekly luncheon meeting to hear our interesting speakers, learn about our many children’s programs and fundraisers, plus meet a lot of friendlies! If they would like to get involved in the community and volunteer opportunities, then Kiwanis might just be what they are looking for.
Leadership San Juan’s Multicurtural Day was postponed til this Friday due to the snow storm last week. Dining With the Dead is starting off the New Year with some actors performing for Leadership San Juan.
Shelly Diede as missionary Mary Eldridge
Ron Price as Wesley Sharver
Rick Burns as outlaw Tom Nance
Stephen Fishman as 1890’s photographer
Tony DiGiacomo as Ike Stockton
Nikki Taylor as MC and Co-Ordinator
Many Thanks to these folks for donating their time and talents! This is this the 7th or 8th year that Leadership San Juan has invited DWTD actors to attend and share pioneer stories about when they came to this area and why.
Thanks Nikki for helping the women and children at New Beginnings have a Merry Christmas! Check out all the wrapped gifts. Nikki shared the sweet Thank You card from New Beginnings.
How do you know when to change tables when playing Bunco (a fast moving fun dice game played with 4 people to a table)? When head table reaches 21 points, they let MC Ron Price know and play stops! The losing team moves to the next table, the 2 winners stay and each couple changes partners. Kiwanis Bunco will be a modified version with 3 6’s being a Bunco. 3 dice of the same number = 5 points with the exception of 3 6’s =21 points. Scores are kept for each round. The object of the game is to get as many points as possible so you will be the winner. You change tables and partners thrughout the evening so you have the opportunity to meet many different people.
Individual Bunco tickets are now on sale on club website: www.riodelsolkiwanis.com. There are a limited number of tickets available. Cost is $40 plus a handling fee.
The Chamber Business After Hours is Thursday, Feb 5 at Garcia & Co Jewelers. Kiwanis is a Chamber member so come and socialize and make new friends. Event starts at 5PM-cost is $5.00
