Hello Everyone,
Special Kiwanis Valentine’s Day with the Four Corners Barbershop Quartet entertaining us. Bring your special someone and enjoy the music they’ve prepared for our group.
A barbershop quartet is an a cappella ensemble of four singers—tenor, lead, baritone, and bass—performing close-harmony,4-part music, typically with the melody in the second-highest voice.

MEMBERSHIP
Thought this is a good idea to run the Membership blub again as membership is imperative to the health of every Service Organization. Since running this last week, we have two new membership applications and a few more who say they are interested in joining us. Emmeri Tafoya with San Juan United Way and Bryan Myers with San Juan County have both submitted applications for membership!!
Kiwanis year runs from October 1 through September 30. By the end of last year, our club lost 12 members for various reasons. Since the end of October, and so far we have welcomed just one new member.
In order for our club to stay strong and continue to grow, we should all keep Membership in mind. Inviting guests is one of the easiest and most effective ways to do that. Guest Forms are available in the name badge box—please ask your guest to fill one out.
If your guest would like to receive our newsletters, simply take a photo of the completed form and email to me, and I’ll be sure they’re added. Many of our guests become members, so every invitation truly makes a difference.
Good News! It now seems as though the newly chartered San Juan College Circle K Club does want to be under Kiwanis umbrella. Evidently, it was not clear to them that they should have followed through with our club on chartering. Plans are in the works to get this corrected so they are part of the Kiwanis Family. Kiwanis International has been contacted about this change and we are waiting to hear back from them. Amber Danek has been instrumental in trying to guide this along. More news as it happens.
A Bit of Wit
