Hello Everyone,

Our speaker tomorrow is MaryAnne Reidy.  She is the NM Coordinator for the Jared Box Project. Jared was a little boy in Pennsylvania that had an aggressive form of brain cancer.  He always took toys with him to his treatment appointments.  Sadly, he lost his battle to cancer, but his legacy lives on in the form of Jared Boxes.

A Jared Box is a plastic shoebox filled with small gifts, games, crayons, coloring books and other fun activities. These Boxes are given to children in the hospital to provide a special, fun diversion.  The boxes calm nerves, lift spirits and show the children that someone cares. The boxes symbolize the importance of play and are filled with well wishes, hope and love.

After the Weekly Meeting tomorrow, a group will meet to plan out the details of the upcoming Fundraiser in February, Corks and Forks with Friends.  If you have ideas to share or want to help plan, please stay after and join us!

Thank you to our speaker two weeks ago, Shelby Coley, Director of Four Corners Home for Children. We learned about the services they provide for children, how to access them, and some upcoming plans they have for the Holidays.

Congratulations to Sherrie Chenault for being inducted into the Kiwanis family before the Thanksgiving Break.  We are glad to have you!

Christopher and the Salvation Army need volunteers for Kettles, Angel Tree, and other events. They would greatly appreciate it and anyone interested in volunteering, visit https://farmington.salvationarmy.org and sign up for the task you would like to assist with. The tasks include kettles, angel tree gift wrapping, angel tree gift distributing, and Thanksgiving preparations.
