Hello Everyone,
Our speaker tomorrow is Wally Dorman with the Wally D Sports Scholarship Foundation. He is looking forward to sharing their efforts to support student athletes in our community. Students who are eligible to receive a scholarship are all seniors who participate in a sport. The top 4 nominees will be invited to an Awards Banquet on June 27th at Farmington Civic Center.
Sorry for the confusion regarding the Chamber Business After Hours last week. It is actually June 6th.
Thank you to our speakers last week, Fire Chief David Vega and Division Chief Shaylee Aurnhammer. In the last 5 years, San Juan County Fire & Rescue has responded to four incidents of people falling in a septic tank, two of those calls resulted in a child’s death. Not everyone uses a septic system, but around 30,000 systems are in use in the county. Our goal is that no more children die in a preventable manner by falling in an unsecured septic tank.
Thank you to everyone that volunteered to help sell Duck Tickets and/or work Riverfest. We really appreciate your help and support!
We received a phone call from Hutton Broadcasting. They plan to run PSA’s promoting Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast and will be doing a live Broadcast the morning of the event on June 15. Arron at the Outback is excited about this and so are we. Summer and Jill will be doing 2 radio shows the week of the event with Hutton Broadcasting. If you’ve sold your pancake tickets, please turn in money. Or if you aren’t selling them, return tickets Thursday. This is a fundraiser for Clothes for Kids.
Summer Jakino has posters and tickets for the Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, June 15 at the Outback Steakhouse. We would appreciate it if everyone would sell at least 1 book of tickets, $10 each-10 tickets to a book =$100. Take Dad and the Family out for a delicious pancake breakfast.
Contact Summer Jakino at 505-215-7177 or Jill McQueary at 505-860-5165. All money raised supports Kiwanis Clothes for Kids this fall.
Also, please bring in pancake money once tickets are sold. There is a competition within the servers at Outback for a cash bonus of $50 to the top salesperson We will have a 1st and 2nd place this year again within Kiwanis $100 and $50 gift certs for Clancy’s. Thank you!
