Hello Everyone,

Our speaker tomorrow is Fire Chief David Vega, and Division Chief Shaylee Aurnhammer.  In the last 5 years, San Juan County Fire & Rescue has responded to four incidents of people falling in a septic tank, two of those calls resulted in a child’s death. Not everyone uses a septic system, but around 30,000 systems are in use in the county. Our goal is that no more children die in a preventable manner by falling in an unsecured septic tank.

Thank you to our speaker last week, Mike Lewis, Airport Manager of Four Corners Regional Airport. We appreciate the updates on the airport activities, issues, and developments. Mike started his career in Farmington in 1987 working for Mesa Airlines. We appreciate your passion for our community!

Tracee Loughran was inducted last week; welcome to the Kiwanis family!

If you haven’t returned Duck Tickets, please bring them tomorrow to the meeting and give them to Chris.  Thank you for all the help!

Jill received a phone call a few days ago from Jeanette with 4 Corners Foundation. She works with Westmeath and through them we received a check for $2,500 for Clothes for Kids.  Then, Jill found out they have again awarded us $3,000.  It will be later this year and then we will receive funding.  It’s all good and goes a long way to help with Clothes for Kids!

Summer Jakino’s son, Dillan, just received ‘The Random Acts of Kindness Award’ at Country Club Elementary.  Congratulations Dillan.

Debbie Fentiman’s daughter, Laurie Harris, is the current reigning Miss Farmington. She will soon be traveling to Las Cruces to compete in the Mrs. New Mexico Pageant. Best of Luck to Laurie!

 Summer Jakino has posters and tickets for the Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, June 15 at the Outback Steakhouse. We would appreciate it if everyone would sell at least 1 book of tickets, $10 each-10 tickets to a book =$100. Take Dad and the Family out for a delicious pancake breakfast.

Also, please bring in pancake money once tickets are sold. There is a competition within the servers at Outback for a cash bonus of $50 to the top salesperson We will have a 1st and 2nd place this year again within Kiwanis $100 and $50 gift certs for Clancy’s. Thank you!

 If any Kiwanis members want to do 4th quarter clean-up at the Connie Mack World Series, you can sign up with Jessica Lazenby.  You get into the game free and also a free t-shirt! Jessica said there are currently 4 evenings available and if you volunteer, it’s for 2 evenings.
