Hello Everyone,

Our speaker tomorrow is Neilson Francisco, Site Director for the San Juan County Site of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico.  BBBS of San Juan County’s mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.  Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the county. They develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Many thanks to all the Program Chairs last week for giving a report on what their program entails. Members also had the opportunity to volunteer to help with the programs. Summer Jakino offered her home again for the Connie Mack Team dinner.  At this point, we won’t learn who our team is until the latter part of June. Once the teams arrive, we may only have 1 or 2 days notice for the dinner.

We had 3 guests last Thursday.  Jason Nichols, Director of Development at Four Corners Home for Children, and has submitted his membership application.

Beth DiGiamoco attended and surprise! Tony also came.  It was great to see him again as his job keeps him away.  Beth and Tony will both be program presenters on June 5.

Sturdy Sturdevant also attended. Sturdy said he will get Kiwanis information about API Scholarships available for graduating seniors.

Riverfest needs lots of volunteers to make this event so successful year after year, 39th Year.  If you would like to volunteer and get a free t-shirt please click the following link
