At the 10/16 meeting we were pleased to have as our guest speaker Capt. Kevin Burns of the SJC Sheriff’s Department. He spoke about the continuing local addiction and overdose problem .He noted that the problem is self-perpetuating because of the in-and-out manner of incarceration. He recommends that more mental health and preventative services would help alleviate the problem.
