Hello Everyone,

Our speaker tomorrow is Eleana Butler- Executive Director of Sexual Assault Services of New Mexico. This non-profit has grown and now has over 20 employees. They just celebrated their 20th Anniversary this month! Eleana will discuss the different services they provide and their upcoming fundraiser in December ‘Martini’s and Mistletoe’.

For those of you who missed last week’s meeting, you missed a fun time!

D’Ann, Nikki and Debbie told three different stories. One was lying and two were telling the truth. Not many people could pick out the lie. It was Nikki. Lulus Petals donated two beautiful Floral arrangements.

Kiwanis is sponsoring the PMS Festival of Trees Teddy Bear Storytime on Dec 5 from 9am to 10am.  Summer has 5 tickets available. If you’d like to have them, email her at: summer.jakino@pmsnm.org

Kiwanis Shoes for Kids: This is a repeat of Nikki’s email sent Tues.

We are going to pass out the shoes and socks to the kids at the Main site of Boys & Girls Club on Thursday, November 21st.

We would love to have some volunteers to help.

Sorry for the short notice but we want to catch these kids before they go out on Thanksgiving break or before it gets any colder.

Let Nikki know if you can come.  Cell:  314-719-9327

Coats for Kids-As you’ve more than likely heard, we only had 18 coats left over this year.  Coats are pricey to purchase and there’s a good chance we may have to do so next year unless we can get enough thru donations. It was suggested that we ask Boys and Girls Club to donate coats that have been left behind. We also have asked schools in years past for their coats. We can also put boxes in more business locations much earlier next year, a couple of months early. By promoting our need, we should be able to gather a few hundred or more coats. There is also a potential for coat donations from Target.

Lori Monteverdi submitted her application for membership and has been approved by the Board. She plans to be inducted at tomorrow’s meeting. Lori’s sponsor is Jill

Last week Lynne Harris brought her friend Beki Cassels to the luncheon meeting. Beki said she really enjoyed Kiwanis. She and her husband, Kelly, are stepping in and presenting on Dec 12 in place of Lynne’s presentation.

Would you like to earn a new Kiwanis pin?  When you bring in 5 new members you are eligible for a Ruby Award pin. Simply keep up with how many members you’ve brought in and then let the Membership chair or Club Secretary knows so your pin can be ordered and awarded to you.

Thanks to Debbie Klein for recommending Rio del Sol Kiwanis to the Aztec Presbyterian Church for a donation.  Their church plans to donate to one of our children’s programs or to our Children’s Fund.

Another Volunteer Opportunity!!  If you’re in the Holiday Spirit and would like to volunteer to ring the bell for the Salvation Army, please contact Lt. Christopher Rockwell. It’s more fun with a friend or family member.
