Hello Everyone,
Laurie Sigillito-Founder and CEO of Local News Network:
“Most of us grew up with a local newspaper that told us what was happening in our town—who was elected, which roads were closing, what the high school team did Friday night. Across the country, those sources of trusted local information are disappearing. When they do, communities lose more than news—they lose connection, accountability, and a shared understanding of what’s happening around them. Local NEWS Network’s mission is simple: help communities stay informed, connected, and resilient by making local news sustainable again.”
Kiwanis Bunco Party last Friday night and everyone seemed to have a really fun evening.Good food, lots of door prizes, about 20 raffle items and several silent auction items. Bunco raised a lot of money for Kiwanis Coats for Kids, Shoes for Kids and Clothes for Kids. This would not have been possible without a great steering committee: Lori Monteverdi, Jareen White, Bernadette Alarid, Summer Jakino, and Jill McQueary. Ron Price kept the evening entertaining while giving great instructions about Bunco. We had a lot of Bunco Pros by the end of the evening. Chris Troyer and Paul McQueary sold raffle sheets to help raise money. Also, a big Thank You to Di Searle, Laura Escopeda,Sturdy and Jen and everyone who helped.
Cody Cornoyer, Chairman for Kiwanis Scholastic Books for Kids, presenting a $1,000 check to Animas Elementary Title One Teacher, Jamie Marrow. The money goes towards the Animas Teacher’s Fund. #KidsNeedKiwanis
