Hello Everyone,

Our speaker tomorrow is Debra Mayeux, She was recently selected as the Only teacher from NM chosen to travel to Washington DC for the Supreme Court Summer Institute. It teaches educators about how to introduce and teach students of all ages about the U.S. government, the Constitution and the Supreme Court. It also teaches how to think like a lawyer so Debra can teach her students to utilize the critical and creative thinking skills needed to practice law and make life-changing decisions! In 2024 she received four awards from the New Mexico Press Association and also won the William S. Dixon Award. It recognized those who fight for transparency in government.

Last week our speaker was Annette Reich, President of Four Corners Home for Children. She enthusiastically shared their mission of the past 70 years in taking care of abused and homeless children, and their newest initiative, Four Corners Families.

Club Treasurer Needed!

After several years of dedicated service as Treasurer, Chris Troyer will be stepping into a Director role beginning October 1. We are now looking for a volunteer to fill this important Board position. If you are interested in serving, please contact Chris or Nikki. Your involvement helps keep our club strong!

Kidsfest 2025 – Volunteer Opportunity!Tana McCall with Hutton Broadcasting, and one of our newest Kiwanis members, is generously offering Kiwanis a free booth at Kidsfest 2025 on Saturday, August 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.We’re looking for someone to coordinate 2–3 volunteers for this event. We have a tent available, and Kiwanis could provide inexpensive school supplies as giveaways to kids attending the event.If you’re willing to help or lead the effort, please contact Jill or Tana at Tana@visitfourcorners.com.Let’s support Tana and make a strong Kiwanis showing at this fun family event!

Alyssa Begay, owner of Bluehorse Realty, has been approved for membership and she plans to be inducted on August 7. We are so thrilled to have her rejoin us!
