Hello Everyone,
Tomorrow Meet Nate Augustine, the new Director of the Farmington Museum! He brings exciting energy and big plans to his role. Nate’s immediate focus is on revitalizing the Riverside Nature Center and the Museum of Navajo Art and Culture- two underused gems that he plans to bring to life with new programs and events. Even more exciting, the Museum is developing a major new permanent exhibit that will tell the story of the Four Corners region, from dinosaurs to the present. Nate has so much to share- you won’t to miss hearing it all in person!
Last week we welcomed Johnny Curry, Chairman of the Connie Mack World Series and Lindsey who works with CM Foster Families. They shared exciting information about the 60th Annual Connie Mack World Series—a true highlight of summer in Farmington! We didn’t learn at Kiwanis which team we’re sponsoring but now we know!
It’s Official! Our Connie Mack Team is the Dallas Patriots! Nikki will help organize Kiwanis participation in the Connie Mack Parade on Friday July 25 and the traditional team dinner when the Patriots Coach lets us know the beat time. (We usually have very little advance notice). If this interests you, please get involved and ready to have fun!
Our condolences and prayers go out to Kiwanian Rae De Groat. Rae’s grandmother had been ill and under hospice. Rae had been helping with her care until her grandmothers’ recent passing.
Weekly Card Drawing – Just 8 Cards Left!
Take your shot at drawing the Ace of Spades and you’ll win half the pot—now over $800! The rest helps fund our end-of-summer social. Don’t miss your chance—your lucky card could be next!
Tana McCall (Hutton Broadcasting) and Victoria Dickson (Allstar T-Shirts) Both plan to be inducted on July 10, they are sponsored by Jill.
Last week we had the pleasure of guest Roy Johnson visiting Kiwanis. Roy was invited by Nikki Taylor. He is a coach at Piedra Vista High School.
Dining With the Dead tickets, posters, and flyers are now printed and have been delivered to Howard’s Cleaners and Artifacts 302. Posters will also be available at this week’s Kiwanis meeting—please take as many as you can to help with distribution.
If you know anyone interested in attending DWTD, encourage them to purchase their tickets early. The event typically sells out 2 to 3 weeks in advance each year!
Reminders & Announcements:
