Hello Everyone,

Tomorrow’s speaker is San Juan County Sheriff, Shane Ferrari.  He recently attended the Legislative conference in Santa Fe and will include legislative priorities in his presentation. Shane always has so much information to share about what’s going on in San Juan County so don’t miss it!

We just heard that we’ll be having 2 special guests from Goodyear, AZ. Governor-Elect of the Southwest District of Kiwanis, Erica Stephens and her husband, Craig, are visiting the ABQ and Corrales Clubs before coming to Farmington tomorrow. If possible, please try to attend and greet these folks.

Robbie Donald gave a very interesting program last week about SJRMC AirCare services, what kinds of planes they fly, where they fly, and lots of information about what they do.

The ladies with Night To Shine also gave us lots of information last week about their wonderful program sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.  They need lots of volunteers so hopefully some Kiwanians will be helping.

Terri Lee brought her sister-in-law, Darlene Lee, to last week’s meeting.  Darlene said she really enjoyed the meeting and will consider joining at some time in the future.

Special message from Lynne Harris:
Got Old Purses? Please donate them! My friend is going to give them to the ladies in the nursing homes in Bloomfield. Any condition will do! These ladies aren’t going out for the night, but we want to remember them on Mother’s Day. Please contact Lynne and she’ll pick them up. Thank you! 505-215-5191

Update!!  Just heard from Amber Danek, FHS Key Club facilitator.  Amber wanted us to know that FHS KC Students are helping with A Night to Shine and the Mayor’s Ball.  Key Club students recently gave us an update on the many programs they’ve been helping with and on their upcoming programs. Kiwanis sponsors 4 Key Clubs: Farmington High, Piedra Vista, Aztec High, and Rociante.  These students are amazing and impressive for all they do in the community.

Wahoo! Our club is in the #1 Position for Membership Growth in the Southwest District out of 82 Clubs.   Thanks to Lori Monteveri and Beki Cassels joining us-you took us out of 2nd Place and put us back in 1st (just where we belong!)

Information concerning New Members:  If you love Kiwanis, share it with your friends and invite them to join you for lunch each Thursday.  If your friend attends and is interested in learning more, ask Di Searle to have them fill out a Guest Information Form with their email and phone #. There is a line asking if they are interested in joining Kiwanis. If they check yes, they will be included in our weekly emails for 2 months. If they don’t join during this period, they are removed from emails. If your guest joins, you are their sponsor. Take them under your wing until they become more comfortable about Kiwanis. They should pay their dues on the day of Induction.

Note to All Committee Chairs-you are asked to attend and give an overview of your program on April 17 and a good time for Chairs to ask for volunteers.  If you are a Chair and unable to attend, consider asking a co-chair to come in your place.
