Rick Burns, a retired US Army Lt. Colonel and teacher of Civics and Government at PV High School, spoke at the 8/7 meeting about his time in Afghanistan setting up and continuing to lead the Karabah Project. The project helps Afghan women obtain skills necessary to sustain themselves and their children within the narrow and brutal confines of the Taliban.
